Summer Update

With Fall upon us, it just dawned on me that my blog hasn't been updated in a really long time (read: Dad has been a lazy poopy-head).

It has been a really interesting Summer with lot of fun and learning. Here are some of the highlights:

I visited the CNE for the very first time. With all the people there, it reminded me a little bit of Mong Kok (I sure miss Hong Kong).

Here I am just walking around with my wicked squeeky shoes.

Here are some other pictures from the CNE Visit

I also got to experience my first "MacDonald's" birthday party too. It was for my friend Emily. A special thank you goes out to Uncle Sean and Auntie Danka for organizing the party.

As with the CNE, I was too young to go on any of the rides. But it was great to watch all the other kids have fun.

There were a lot of personal "firsts" and proud achievements as well.

First Birthday

Today, I celebrate my first birthday. Can you believe it has already been a year?

Wondering how it all started? Visit this page: http://maximtran.blogspot.com/2007/07/hello-world_2767.html

Here are some pictures from my birthday party this past weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

In addition to the weekend birthday party, we also had a family dinner today.

Here I am just before the family dinner. By the way, the toy that I'm riding on was an early birthday gift from Aunt Jennifer & Uncle Joey.

Los Angeles Trip - June 2008

This past June, the whole family went to Los Angeles for Aunt Lisa & Uncle Khai's wedding.

Here, I'm waiting for the wedding start. It was great, the entire event took placed on a yacth.

One of the highlights of the trip was to meet up with my cousin Tyler for the first time. We are just 3 months apart. By the way, you might notice that we're wearing similar outfits for the wedding. This was by pure coincidence! What can we say? Our mamas have good fashion sense.

Here I am with with Grandma & Tyler with his grandma - Great Auntie Kay

During our visit, we also took a short trip to Las Vegas.

Of course, the best part of the trip was to see all my family.

The other highlight was to meet cousin Ryan. This is a group picture of the new parents. From left to right: Me with Mom & Dad. Tyler with Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Joey. Ryan with Auntie Stacey and Uncle Peter.

Spring 2008 Update

It's been over 3 months since my last post. Sorry, it has been a very busy and interesting time recently. There has been a lot of adjusting and new discovery each day...for me, Mom and Dad. I think we are all getting the hang of things now.

Here are some pictures that have been taken over the past 3 months:

My last ride in my baby walker in Hong Kong.

In mid-February, Mom and I finally moved to Canada. Here is a picture of me with Mom's family at the Hong Kong Airport.

Here's my very first picture in Toronto with Dad's family.

Me and Mommy's best friend - the "ExerSaucer"

Relaxing on the sofa...

...watching one of Mom's Chinese Dramas

Somehow, I managed to get one of my napkins to land on my head.

Now that I'm hidden, Mom can't see me sneaking a little bite on one of my toys. She hates it when I do this, but loves this picture.

Happy New Year - 2008

It's been over 2 months since my last post. I know many of you are wondering how I'm doing and how I look like now. Well, I have lots to share and show.

As some of you might know, at the end of October, Dad went back to Toronto to work. Mom and I were not expecting him until next month. So it was really amazing when Dad suprised us with a visit last month! I'm so super glad that I was able to share my first Christmas and New Years with both Mom and Dad together. The following pictures are of some outtings during Dad's recent trip back to Hong Kong.

This is a picture of me at the Golden Bauhinia

Next, we went to the Peak with Grandma and Grandpa. For a very long time, Grandpa wanted to show me something very special -- a walk through the Peak Trail. Little did Dad know -- the Peak Trail was a nature walk that took an hour and a half with no possible exits once you start. I didn't mind, Grandpa carried me most of the way.

We ended the day by going to Hong Kong Habour to look at all the wonderful lights and Christmas decorations.

Over the holidays, my Uncle Tuan (Dad's younger brother) and his friends also came to visit Hong Kong for a vacation.

The following picture is the headshot for my passport. Mom says it's cute. She thinks I look like a school boy. Dad thinks I look like a convicted felon. Note: This picture was taken in early December -- I have more hair now ;)

Recently, my first tooth emerged. Mom now understands why I kept biting my hands and napkins.

Exercising helps me forget about the biting sometimes.

Here are some final random pictures for you to enjoy!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival (also known as the "Lantern Festival" or "Mooncake Festival") is one of the most important event for Chinese people everywhere.

The Mid-Autumn Festival usually falls on a date that parallels the Autumn Equinox (when the moon is at its fullest and brightest). Very much like Thanksgiving (back in Canada), it's a time for family members to reunite and celebrate with each other. So for my family and friends back in Canada/US, here are some updated pictures for you to enjoy.

Here is a picture of a rare family outting (rare because Mom and Dad have spent most of the past couple of months at home taking care of me.)

Here is a video of me waking up on my 2-month birthday (last week).
